Level up

I should have called/posted sooner. My period arrived the very next day and Friday I went for my supression check.
Lining is thin, RO showed 5 antral follicles, LO was not to be found.

I know I have a LO, it joined the fun in a couple of the previous cycles, I just seem to have misplaced it for the moment. My dr. reassured me we'll find it next time, it'll be hard to miss with all those follicles growing*. Will this make ER harder? Gravity should make it fall into a better position, unless it's stuck up there somehow. I guess we'll deal with that when it happens.

Those 5 antral follicles on the right are something to work with*, and I was relieved to see them, but I'm not really impressed. Then again, it was a cursory glance the dr. took. Perhaps these 5 are only the largest ones and there are smaller ones hiding there*. For my first IVF I get to think greedy, there's plenty of time to be disappointed later.

Anyhow, my bloodwork showed all is clear for takeoff. I start stimming on Sunday with two vials of Men0pur. For the moment, I'm feeling surprisingly laid back about this cycle, in a "let's see where this takes us kind of way". I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

*Speculation, standard disclaimers apply.

Oh huzzah! Things are looking good, well except for leftie. One hopes that LO has not run off to some bar somewhere and will show up present and accounted for with the next U/S.

Enjoy those stims!

LO will reappear...it's off having fun before the stimming begins. It's funny how our bodies always stress us out. Wishing you the best with this cycle.

Damn the LO! How irresponsible to go on a bender before the big show.

Let's just hope LO's extended vacay means it's growing lots of follies...

Wishing you all the best. I'm sure that LO is just jonesing for a fix of the good stuff. She'll show up drunk and full of good ones at the next us.

my understanding is that the left ovary is often hard to find. Let's hope yours shows up soon from wherever it went.

Gook luck with the stims! I'm hoing all goes well for you this cycle. May your first IVF cycle be your last!

During two IVF cycles I got nothing from the left ovary. My insensitive RE asked if I had had surgery on it. "It looks dead" he said. I said it's not dead it's just on vacation this cycle. But thatnks for asking. Your ovary will turn up - there are only so many places and so far it can go!

That crazy LO - mine always disappears too - where it goes I do not know and sometimes it comes back with presents (a.k.a cysts). Good luck with the stims - everything looks good!

I hope that your left ovary reappears soon. They always have a heck of a time finding mine. Good luck with starting stims!

I hope you find your left ovary soon!

BTW: I had seven antral follicles, and panicked about it (I thought that wasn't enough). However, by the time the egg retrieval arrived I had eleven follicles that had eggs inside them... as well as quite a few that were smaller than 16mm.

How the hell do you lose your LO? :) Hope her vacation is short.

Go STIMS, GO! (Sorry I felt this exciting time deserves a cheer)

Lut, looks like we are starting stims the very same day!
How interesting that your left ovary was hiding! Naughty ovary! You had better tell it you're not playing hide and seek and that it better show up soon! :)

I had my baseline ultrasound Friday too (I finally wrote about it on blog). Just wanted to mention that u/s tech told me that not all antrals will be seen on "day 3" baseline and that some are too small. So you might have lots more than 5 in there - but 5 is a great start as is!

Wishing you the best on starting stims today and raising my glass (of non-alcoholic beverage of course) to you - may the stimming phase begin for both of us!

I feel your "pain" with LO. Mine is hard to see too - and doesn't really like to play along. I agree - don't fret too much about the antral counts - you will get what you will get.

I hope your stims are going well (uneventful) and this is your first and last IVF cycle!

Hey! My LO went on an unscheduled holiday, too, during my cycle. Just rude.

Yeah, my left ovary likes to hide as well. Don't worry, I'm sure she'll show up in time for the big party.

Best of luck for this cycle! I'm crossing everything I can for you.

I'm guessing LO is off somewhere snorting coke off a hookers ass and will be back very soon. Probably high, but at least stimulated. Heh.

I hope the calm stays with you, in any case enjoy it while you can . . . smart strategy.

Good Luck!

My LO has always been MIA, too. But it's still so early. I'm sure LO and RO will step up. Good luck.

Why is everyone's LO the wayward one? Mine's always given the tech a hard time, but with some extra shoving it usually makes an appearance. as for antral counts, I had 6 in my RO and 5-6? in my LO on my baseline. This morning (8 days later) I found that the count had increased to about TWENTY ONE, with my LO sporting 14 of them--so more are still possible--

Good luck, maybe your LO is smuggling follies like mine was!
