6 weeks on the dot

The scan went well. The doctor pointed out 1 gestational sac with 1 beating hart.
I am stunned, again.

Thus a new chapter in this story begins, hopefully with a happy ending.

First I want to thank all of you for your support over the last days, weeks and months. I don't know where I would have been without this blog, and I don't think I want to know. Do I need to explain? Surely not.

Why am I thanking you now, so insanely early? PG after IF is an awkward time in an IF blogger's life. I realize that I will be silently waving goodbye to some of you in the near or not so near future, depending on how this goes. Though it makes me sad, it's perfectly ok, because that's just the way it is.

I have one request though. When I read blogs of women who are PG after IF, I often want to say something, just to let them know I was still reading. But how many times can you say "good to hear all is well!"? What do I know about being PG?!

Let's make a deal: say it as many times as you like. I won't tire of hearing it (and hope the circumstances will lend themselves to it.) If you get bored with it, consider leaving me a smiley, or some funky ASCII art, or a cool link to whatever. Not every time, just sometimes.

I hope this will be a very boring PG, but it would mean a lot to me to know someone is still visiting on occasion. You don't fly the trapeze without a safety net.

I'm so pleased Lut. The heartbeat is the big, big thing. Hoping very hard that indeed this chapter is heading towards a happy ending in late October (?). Hoping you become as boring as I have become (!).

Congratulations! I will still visit you, and yes, I do find it interesting that some people think the journey is over when someone gets pregnant.

To me I think that another journey has only just begun. The adventures of pregnancy, and birth and parenting are huge. And you never really stop being infertile, IMHO. It totally changes your perspective about everything going forward.

I look forward to reading your adventures to come... :)

Oh Lut, this is such good news. I am also hoping for a very "boring" pregnancy for you. With the way things have been going lately for me, I tend to be one of those that shys away from pregnancy centered blogs but I would only, ever wish you the very best (you know that, right?)

WOW! and YAY! A heartbeat at 6w is a wonderfully good sign!

No, you don't need to explain. I know the feeling you are describing, but you're right. We need the safety net, even after PG has been "achieved."

I will definitely keep reading and commenting... you're a fellow pg/if bud - and I am just so thrilled that you've gotten to this point! A heartbeat!!

Yay! Congrats on seeing the heartbeat! This is a big milestone.

It is a wierd transition from IF to pregnant. And I think we're in that limbo stage somewhat too - do I really fit in the pregnant category now? It's hard to comprehend. I still feel like I can relate more to the IF blogs than the PG blogs.

I'm so glad to hear the scan went well. It is an unusual transition switch from infertile blogger to pregnancy blogger.
